Artist Comments: Just Hatched was created for a very specific reason- the birth of our first child, a boy we named Graeme! We have used penguins before to represent ourselves during a major life event, so it seemed appropriate to do so again. This time, I took a less conventional (and less humorous) approach to the style and ended up with this piece, which I feel is quite expressive of the event. |
