Artist Comments: I had the immense pleasure of going on a two week rafting trip down the Grand Canyon in the summer of 2006. I took a small sketching journal with me and drew sights around me each day. This is one of the drawings from that journal. I drew the canyon from camp most nights, usually each in a different style. On the evening of day 6, I was short of time as the sun was already setting. As a result, the style for that night was a quicker, sketchy drawing. The result was an impressionistic view of the canyon that I really like Mile 107 is a boring name for such a nice place. |
