• Mauve: How One Man Invented a Color That Changed the World by Simon Garfield
  An historical account of how synthetic colors drove the rise of chemistry and changed the world. While Mauve is not as compelling as Color (above), it is worth a read.
• The Business Side of Creativity by Cameron Foote
  A good book on how to think of your art career as a business. In other words, this book is about the practical stuff you didn't learn in art school.
• Graphic Artists Guild Handbook of Pricing and Ethical Guidelines
  An annual publication by the Graphic Artist's Guild, this handbook lays out the details of general business practices and pricings of the visual arts.
• Cyclopedia Anatomicae by György Fehér, illustrated by András Szunyoghy
  Detailed anatomical drawings of the bones, muscles and proportions of the human and many common animals- the cow, deer, dog, cat, etc. CAUTION: This book is not an "artist's guide" but a general anatomical reference.
